About Mandala Art
Mandala art originated in India and is based on the principle of mandala, which translates to ‘circle’ or ‘repetition’. The Mandala art is often depicted in two dimensions and emphasizes geometric shapes. It derives from Hindu and Buddhist traditions, which are also based on geometric symbols. Mandala is a Sanskrit word meaning “circle.” It’s a universal symbol that represents the universe and unifies all things in existence.
